When the marriage you built starts to feel like hard work

Most marriages don't break down in one dramatic moment. They wear thin quietly - in the argument that never gets resolved, the conversation that gets shorter every year, the silence that settles in after the children are asleep. By the time couples reach out to me, one or both of them have usually been carrying it alone for a long time. If that's where you are, this is far more common than you think, and far more workable than it feels right now.

The same disagreements come up again and never really resolve
You're polite, functional, co-parenting well - and quietly lonely
Trust has been damaged by an affair, a lie or a betrayal of confidence
Physical or emotional intimacy has faded and neither of you knows how to name it
In-laws, money or parenting decisions have become a permanent battleground
One partner is ready to work and the other is unsure
The word 'separation' has been said out loud, or thought about often
What marriage counselling means
Not a blame roomA guided space to understand patterns, rebuild safety and practise new ways of relating.

What is marriage counselling?

Marriage counselling is a confidential, structured space where a married couple can slow down and actually be heard - by each other, and by someone who has no stake in who wins. It isn't arbitration and it isn't advice. My role is to help you see the pattern you are both stuck inside, understand what is driving it underneath the surface, and give you practical, usable tools to relate differently.

Marriage counselling is not only for marriages in crisis. Some of the couples I work with are in real distress. Others are simply in transition - a new city, a new baby, a career shift, a loss - and want to move through it without losing each other. Both are good reasons to be here.

Who is marriage counselling for?

Married couples caught in a repeating conflict cycle they can't break on their own
Partners rebuilding after infidelity, secrecy or a serious breach of trust
Couples who have grown into respectful strangers and want the closeness back
Marriages under pressure from in-laws, joint-family dynamics or cultural expectations
Couples weighing whether to rebuild or separate, and wanting clarity before deciding
Partners with different parenting styles who want to get on the same team

This is an inclusive, judgement-free space. You are welcome exactly as you are.

Joint Sessions

Ideally, both partners attend together so the shared pattern can be seen clearly and worked with safely.

Individual marriage counselling
Solo Start

Individual Marriage Counselling

Many marriages begin with one partner sitting alone, unsure whether the other will join. That is a completely valid way to begin.

We may use joint sessions for shared work and individual sessions where needed. Nothing is carried secretly from an individual session into a joint one.

How I work

My approach is warm, practical and experiential. I don't take sides, hand out verdicts or lecture. I hold a steady, objective space where both of you feel genuinely respected - because a marriage only changes when both people feel safe enough to be honest in the room. From there we surface the patterns beneath the conflict and build the skills to live differently. Where it genuinely helps, I draw on breathwork, hypnotherapy and expressive work, always grounded in respect, active listening, honesty and complete confidentiality.

Marriage counselling FAQs

Yes. Starting on your own is common and genuinely useful. Understanding your own part in the cycle changes what happens between you, and many partners join once they see the tone of the work rather than imagining it.
It depends on what you're carrying. Some couples feel a shift within a handful of sessions; rebuilding after a betrayal or a decade-old pattern takes longer. We set goals early and review progress together rather than leaving it open-ended.
No. That decision is yours and it isn't mine to make. My role is to make sure you make it with clarity rather than exhaustion - and if the outcome is separation, to help you do it respectfully, especially where children are involved.
For most couples, yes. Online sessions are confidential and far easier to sustain when you're managing work, children and travel. What matters is that both of you are present and undisturbed for the hour.
Never. Both of you will feel heard in the room. If either partner feels I'm building a case against them, the work stops being useful - so balance isn't a nicety here, it is the method.
Yes. Confidentiality is a core principle of my practice, within professional and legal limits.
Fees vary by session type and are shared on enquiry. Sessions are available in English, Hindi and Gujarati.
